Okay, I started this new job a couple months ago, and I love it. Love the people I work with, love that I am only at work a couple of hours a couple days a week, but DON'T love my bathroom experiences there. The bathroom looks nice enough, smells nice enough, and generally speaking, meets all my lavatory needs. That said a couple weeks back I open the stall to see a gleaming white toilet with a Texas-sized cockroach floating belly up in the can. Close the door and move on to the next stall. I also warned the next person who wandered in to use another stall. After I finished up my business, and realized that I should just flush it. So I did.
The story should end there, I mean how common is a lone, Texas-sized cockroach in an otherwise clean bathroom? Apparently more common than I would like. Today, I walked in, sat down, and attended to my business (which is very frequent these days what with a baby sitting on my bladder), only to get up, turn around to flush, and see ANOTHER ENORMOUS TEXAS-SIZE COCKROACH crawl out from under the seat and do a little dance for me. If I weren't morally opposed to high pitched shrieking, today would have been the day.
I don't even know who to complain to, so I'm complaining to you. YUCK. A big, Texas-sized YUCK.
To brighten my day, the LG was working on an art project this afternoon for his cousin. While tracing his hand, he exclaimed, "Mom, she's going to be really impressed with this. Really impressed." I'm really impressed LG that somewhere you learned that word. Thanks for making me laugh. I really needed that.

Happy Days
The BK read my last post and glumly said, "You seem pretty down." I figure I better post some good stuff before I have my mother calling worried about me. The most exciting thing that happened this week was that I received an amazing piece of mail that has filled my heart with joy. You may remember a few posts back that my sister-in-law held an art auction. My artwork arrived and honestly, I can't really explain the difference it makes to the room it now hangs in. I can explain that it just makes my heart happy.
Also this week, one of the LG's friends had a birthday party at this wild west place. It was a costume party, so I am warning that there are spoilers in the following picture as to what the LG plans to be for Halloween (still not sure if I'm sold on the TP's costume). I know you have all been waiting with anticipation. Buzz Lightyear is one of his other best friends. The party was thrown by a group of Spanish-speaking ladies we get together with occasionally (nope, we still don't speak any spanish), and man was it a party! We had a fantastic lunch, the kids had a great time, and there was even trick or treating, plus my kids took a 3 hour nap afterward. That is definitely my kind of party.
The BK and I had a date night with some friends of ours last night and went to see Wall Street, which was actually better than I expected. I forget how nice it is to get out of the house, and am so grateful to people willing to watch my kids for a few hours! That said, it took me 5 hours to clean my house before the babysitter arrived. I was so pooped by the time we left I could have taken a nap and been just as happy as heading to the show. Kids. Sheesh.
We are really looking forward to our vacation to DC next week! We will be doing some Trick or Treating in Georgetown, hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa, checking out all the dinosaur bones and airplanes we can handle on the Mall, visiting good friends and probably renewing our feelings of doubt as to why we ever left in the first place. Ahhhh DC.
See mom, I'm fine ; )

Blue Skies
Not really sure what the title has to do with anything, but it's a BOY! We are very excited that the LG will have a little brother. He was particularly excited to see the ultrasound picture of the penis. He couldn't stop laughing then, still can't stop laughing now anytime he thinks about it. His laughter is contagious and now we all laugh anytime we think of it.
Sunday the LG was laying around, clearly very bored as he said, "Mom, this house is too small, there isn't anywhere to run around." Yeah well, tell that to the powers that be I think to myself. Maybe the lottery could rain down from the blue skies directly into my chimney.
I hate cheerful pregnant people. They make me more cranky. Just to confirm my crankiness, here's a list of all the things I have NO interest in doing while I'm pregnant:
1 -Cooking
2 - Getting out of bed
3 - Cleaning
4 - Eating (I'm still hoping this passes soon, but so far I'm outta luck)
5 - Changing diapers
6 - Going anywhere
7 - Doing anything
8 - Talking to anyone
Seriously, it would just be better for everyone, including all of you - who by now may think I need professional help, if I just went into confinement for 9 months.
I would show pictures of something, but using my camera is on the list under "doing anything". If you can't stand grumpy pregnant people, you probably shouldn't check back until late March.
